The results of the 37th MIFF are summed up

MOSCOW. On June 26, the 37th Moscow International Film Festival summed up and handed out awards to this year’s winners. The jury of the international competition chaired by the French filmmaker Jean-Jacques Annot awarded the main prize of the Golden George festival to the film "Losers" by the Bulgarian director Ivaylo Hristov. Also, this film won the Prize of the jury of Russian film critics (along with the art tape "The Sea and the Flying Fish" by the Iranian director Mehrdad Gafarzade) and the Prize of the jury of the Federation of Film Clubs of Russia for the best film of the international competition.

The special prize of the Silver George jury, the NETPAC jury award and the Special mention of the jury of the Russian film critic were awarded the Aventur tape by Russian director Elena Evteeva. The artwork “Be a Good Boy” directed by Mipo Oh (Japan) also received a NETPAC jury prize.

For Frederick Aspek for the film Rosita (Denmark) received the Silver George Award for best directing work.

According to the international jury of the 37th Moscow International Film Festival, the best actress of the year was Elena Lyadova for her role in the film "Orleans" by Russian director Andrei Proshkin. In addition, the picture received a prize from the jury of the Federation of Film Clubs of Russia for the best film based on the results of a rating vote of the regions. Yerkebulan Dairov received the Silver George Prize for best male performance for his role in the film The Barrier, directed by Zhasulan Poshanov (Kazakhstan).

The film “The Land of Punitives” directed by Matt Heineman (USA) won the documentary competition and received Silver George. The best short film of the festival was the short story “Method of conducting surveillance by a sniper” by Yunha Kim (South Korea).

The prize of the Kommersant Weekend publication went to Aleksandr Mindadze (Russia-Ukraine-Germany-Great Britain) for the movie “Cute Hans, dear Peter”, Goran Radovanovic (Serbia) for the Audience Award, and the FIPRESCI Jury Prize for the film “Road” Rana Salem (Lebanon). The prize for the best film in the Russian program, according to the jury of the Federation of Cinema Clubs of Russia, was awarded to the work "Angels of the Revolution" by Alexei Fedorchenko.

Jean-Jacques Annot, who led the international jury, was awarded the prize for his contribution to world cinema, and the American actress Jacqueline Bisset received the “Believe!” Prize for her loyalty to the principles of the school of K.S. Stanistovsky and the conquest of the peaks of acting.

According to the organizers of the large-scale film forum, the 38th Moscow International Film Festival will be held in 2016.
