The festival of theaters of small towns next year may be held in the city of Volsk

VOLSK. In the Volsky Drama Theater, a meeting was held with Nikolai Pankov, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Now in the State Duma the time has come for vacations, therefore many deputies go on trips around the country’s regions. Nikolai Pankov invited his whole team, as well as representatives of the local intelligentsia, to a meeting in the drama theater hall.

The reason for the arrival of the Duma deputy to Volsk is important, so the drama theater hall was crowded. The meeting was of particular importance for creative people, because it discussed good news for the city - Volsk became one of the provincial cities, where the next theater festival can be held, collecting theaters of small towns for creative competition.

However, before accepting the participants of the festival, it is necessary to prove to the special commission that the city has such opportunities. The commission will arrive in Volsk in September. Until this time, the problem of having a second site should be resolved. The terms of the competition say that performances should take place on two stages.

Nikolai Pankov noted that Volsk has every right to qualify for the festival. The city has rich cultural traditions. The history of the local theater began back in 1937. Every year it presents to the audience 7-8 premiere performances.

The deputy stressed that the event is important not only as a cultural event. The festival is important for the development of the city and its infrastructure. Representatives of the administration assured those present that they understand how high the level of responsibility in solving the problems raised. They are ready to quickly work on the improvement of the city.

Oleg Zagumennov, chief director of the Volsky Drama Theater, said that if the commission was chosen in favor of Volsk, then this event would go down in the history of the city.
