The organizers of the Pushkin Festival told reporters about the future events of the theater holiday

PSKOV. Before the opening of the Pushkin Theater Festival, there was very little time left. The festival organizers have already fully formed the festival poster, including performances, master classes and creative meetings. The program of the Pushkin Festival, the opening of which is scheduled for February 5, will bring together not only Russian groups, but also foreign theaters.

The organizers of the festival decided to acquaint journalists with some details of the upcoming theatrical festival, having gathered a press conference for this purpose. The meeting, which spoke a lot about the significance of the Pushkin Festival for the Pskov public, took place on January 25th. At its opening, they emphasized that this bright event, taking place in Pskov for the 23rd time, is extremely important for the cultural life of Pskov and the region. The festival has long had the status of an event in national culture.

Dmitry Meskhiev, who holds the post of director of the theater and concert directorate, noted the importance of Pskov residents having a unique opportunity to see the performances of theaters outside Russia at the festival. However, it is necessary to attract spectators from other cities, inviting them to come to Pskov at least for the festival week.

Alexander Kladko, who recently headed the Pskov drama, explained to reporters why the artists of his theater participate in the Pushkin Festival only as spectators. He did not want to hastily create the performance by the opening of the theatrical festival, and there was enough work in the theater. However, viewers will get acquainted with the work of the new chief director. The play “Five Evenings” staged by Alexander Kladko will be brought to the festival by Russian theater artists from Tallinn. In Estonia, he has been walking in a crowded room for about three years.
