Pskov hosts the Pushkin Theater Festival for the 24th time

PSKOV. In the theater to them. On February 3, Pushkin gathered participants and guests of the Pushkin Theater Festival, which opened for the 24th time this year. The opening ceremony began with the congratulations of the famous film director Dmitry Meskhiev, addressed to everyone who was present in the hall.

Dmitry Meskhiev, who is the head of the Pskov Region Workshop, expressed personal thanks to Andrei Turchak, the Governor of the Region, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the regional committee of culture and art director Andrei Pronin. The team members who worked on the festival were not forgotten, because the theater forum was held precisely thanks to their efforts.

Meskhiev noted that many of the performances brought to the festival by theaters from different cities of the country are completely new, unfamiliar to either Moscow or St. Petersburg audience. In total, the works of thirteen Russian theaters will be shown as part of the Pushkin Festival. Dmitry Meskhiev wished the public positive emotions from the performances presented during the festival.

Nikolai Kolyada also spoke at the opening ceremony. The head of the Yekaterinburg Kolyada Theater, came to the festival from Moscow, where his team’s big tour had just ended. The director thanked the organizers of the festival for the invitation and for the honorable right granted to his theater to become the first theater to present his work in the festival program.

Immediately after the ceremony, the audience saw the play “The Queen of Spades” performed by the artists of the Kolyada Theater. The performance was staged by the director based on a play written by him based on the famous work of Pushkin. Presenting the play, Nikolai Kolyada joked, saying that Pushkin should not be offended by our fantasies embodied on stage.
