YEKATERINBURG. After the return of the Yekaterinburg Youth Theater from the capital, where the theater with great success presented its performance "The Little Mermaid". Yekaterinburg artists twice showed The Little Mermaid at the Et cetera Theater in the out-of-competition Children’s Weekend program, which is part of the Golden Mask festival.

This program brought together from all over Russia the best performances for young spectators, most of which were brought to Moscow by regional theaters. The Little Mermaid was granted the honorable right to open the Children’s Weekend program. After showing their work, the participants and directors of the play received a well-deserved award - a standing ovation crowded with spectators.

The final results of the trip to the capital were announced on March 15 at a press conference that brought together media representatives in the Youth Theater. It was attended by Svetlana Uchaykina, the director of the theater, together with the artists and the performance “The Little Mermaid” representing the Yekaterinburg Youth Theater in Moscow.

Svetlana Uchaykina told the meeting that this performance was highly appreciated by the leaders of the leading theaters of the capital and competent critics who were present at the shows. Even in the busy theatrical life of Moscow, he is noted as a significant event. They drew attention to the choreography of the play, which became the creative tandem of the Youth Theater and the Provincial Dances Theater.

The wonderful play of Maria Vikulova, a young actress of the Youth Theater, was also noted. Almost only with ballet, almost without words, the actress managed to convey the hopelessness of the Little Mermaid’s love, which became a drama for the heroine. After each show of The Little Mermaid, discussions were held with the audience. Participants in the meeting said that on social networks the conversation about the production presented by the Yekaterinburg Youth Theater is still lively.
