Pskov audience said goodbye to the participants of the Pushkin Theater Festival

PSKOV. The Pushkin Theater Festival, held in Pskov for the 24th time, ended on February 12 with the performance “Notes of a Young Doctor” presented to the audience by the St. Petersburg Theater “Workshop”. The production of the events that took place in the first year of the young doctor’s work, described by Mikhail Bulgakov, was directed by Grigory Kozlov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Like Bulgakov, the director in his work addresses the personalities and destinies of people, in his works one can feel faith in people and love for them. The performance "Notes of a Young Doctor" was awarded a special prize from the expert council of "Golden Spotlight", became the nominee of the "Golden Mask".

On the final evening of the festival, Andrei Turchak, the governor of the region, was present in the theater hall. On the same day, two sketches of performances created as part of the work of a unique directorial laboratory were shown. Under the guidance of Oleg Loevsky, young directors created three conceptual plays. They were embodied in the manger by the artists of the Pskov drama.

All sketches were dedicated to the work of Pushkin. The first of the three sketches was shown on February 11th. Viewers saw the directorial work of Dmitry Krestyankin "Mozart and Salieri." The director entrusted the performance of the main roles to the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Svekolnikov and the young theater actor Alexei Puchkov.

The sketching performance “Pinezhsky Pushkin”, presented by the director Pyotr Chizhov, was shown at the theater museum on the afternoon of February 12, and in the evening the audience saw the “Captain’s Daughter” directed by Nikolai Russky. The audience unanimously gave their preference to “Pinezhsky Pushkin”. There were no negative reviews. The final choice of the conceptual play to replenish the repertoire of the Pskov drama will be made by Alexander Kladko, the theater’s artistic director.
