ART Saturday about the work of two famous artists

December 24 at 18:00 in the space of the "Gallery of V. Bronstein" as part of the personal exhibition of the famous artist Zorikto Dorzhiev "Chaos theory" ART Saturday will be held.

“Chaos Theory” is a new conceptual project of a Buryat master. The exposition contains about 40 paintings from the collection of the Khankhalaev Gallery (Moscow). The canvases created by the author from 2012 to 2016 are made not only in the tradition of realistic painting, stylization, but also in the artist’s favorite mixed media, where the materials for creating the works are fabrics and metal, which on the canvas “play their roles” draperies clothes and jewelry.

Visitors to ART Saturday will have a detailed tour, from which they learn interesting facts not only about the works presented in the exhibition, but also about the master himself, his childhood, his favorite books, records and his first idol, illustrator Herluf Bidstrup, whose comics, according to himself Zorikto, aroused his interest in drawing.

In the book “ZORIKBOOK” the Buryat artist shares his memories: “Even before I consciously started to print something on paper, my favorite books were the comics of Herluf Bidstrup. In vain, everyone thinks that there were no comics in the Soviet era and this culture was unfamiliar to us. Very familiar. Bidstrup is an artist from friendly Denmark, of proletarian descent, and also a communist. Therefore, his albums in my father’s library totaled a few pieces. "

After the tour, guests of ART Saturday will see a documentary about the life and work of the talented Bidstrup, and young visitors will see an animated film created on the basis of comics by a Danish author and caricatures based on his works.
