The Brave New World concert will widely present the works of English composers of the second half of the 20th century and our contemporaries. The program will be opened by the Russian premiere of String Quartet No. 6, Elizabeth Lachens, dedicated to one of the main characters of the exhibition, Francis Bacon. In addition to this composition, Incipit Vita Nova will also be performed - an example of the harmonious “new simplicity” by Gavin Bryers, the Piano Trio of Alexander Göhr, a serial production enthusiast, and the shocking Life story of new British music leader Thomas Ades. The festival will end with one of Britten’s most extravagant compositions - “rap” of 1936 to the words of Uisten Hugh Auden from the music for the film “Night Mail”.
