The lecture hall will begin work in the Irkutsk Art Museum in September

Lectures for those who are passionate about art will be presented by the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. In September, in the main museum building on the street. Lenin, 5 will begin their work lecture hall. Every third Saturday of the month, the author’s lectures will be given by the museum’s researchers - art historians and art historians.

The start will be given on September 17th - as part of the first meeting, the deputy director general of the museum, Natalia Goncharenko, will tell the audience little-known facts from the life of the collector and creator of the first art gallery in Siberia, Vladimir Platonovich Sukachev.

In October, the program will continue with a lecture by Sofya Shemyakina, senior researcher at the Museum Storage Department, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation “Russian Portrait of the 18th Century”.

In November, the theme “Ethos of Russian Art” will be dedicated to the presentation of Lyudmila Snytko, a leading researcher at the museum, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. “Ethos or conscientiousness - this is what has always distinguished Russian art from the art of other countries,” says Lyudmila Snytko, “the culmination was the“ golden ”XIX century from Pavel Fedotov to the great Repin. “We took into account the wishes of our visitors,” says Natalia Goncharenko, “many of them remember how a similar lecture hall worked in the museum in previous years. We decided to resume this practice. While the lectures will be once a month, next year, perhaps more often. ” The museum notes that the number of seats at the lecture is limited, as the chamber format is preferred. Those who would like to become a regular listener can already purchase tickets for all lectures at the box office of the main museum building. Volunteers of the Irkutsk Art Museum will be able to attend lectures for free.
