International Exhibition-Competition of Animal Art "ANIMAL PORTRAIT"

The international exhibition and competition of animal art "Portrait of an Animal" will be held in the Exhibition Hall of the Moscow Zoo (Bolshaya Gruzinskaya St., 1, p. 1, Moscow).

Dates of the exhibition: November 21 - December 23, 2018.

The exhibition will feature works in which various forms of the existence of the animal world are displayed.

Within the framework of the exhibition, several master classes will be held at which masters and artists will share their best practices and experience.

Competitive nominations:

The exhibition exposition includes the following sections:

1. “PAINTING: An animalistic genre in paintings”
2. “GRAPHICS: Animalistic art in graphic works”
3. “SCULPTURE: Animalistic art in sculpture”
4. “PHOTO: Animalistic art in photography and digital art”
5. “TEXTILES: Animal art in textiles”
6. "DECOR: Animal art in the arts and crafts"

Each of these sections includes nominations:

1. Animals;
2. Birds;
3. Insects;
4. Reptiles;
5. Fish and marine animals;
6. Nature and man.

Expert Council / Jury

The exhibition is held in the form of a competition - all works are evaluated by members of the Expert Council, which includes leading animal painters, representatives of the Moscow Zoo and a number of Russian and foreign zoos, representatives of the Moscow City Department of Culture, media representatives and journalists specializing in animal painters, art historians, well-known leading programs on animals and circus artists.

Based on the expert decision, the main composition of the exhibition from 50 works will be formed.

All works were evaluated according to the following criteria:

• craftsmanship and workmanship;
• originality and innovation;
• degree of influence on the viewer.

Geography of participants

The exhibition is attended by artists, masters and photographers from any region of the Russian Federation, as well as from foreign countries. Participants from Russia and foreign countries have the same rights.
