Interregional landscape art exhibition "Rainbow of the South"

A large-scale interregional exhibition of paintings on the development of the landscape genre is being held for the first time in the Southern Federal District. It represents a large section of the fine art of the south of Russia and makes it possible to analyze in detail the processes taking place in the most popular and most vulnerable genre of painting.

The exhibition is attended by landscape painters from all the southern regions of the country, representing the branches of the Union of Russian Artists in the republics of Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Crimea, North Ossetia-Alania, Chechnya, as well as Astrakhan, Volgograd, Kavminvodskoy, Kislovodsk, Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Rostov, Stavropol, Taganrog regional branches of the Union of Artists of Russia. For the first time in the inter-regional exhibition of the south of Russia, all three regional branches of the Republic of Crimea participate - the Crimean Republican, Sevastopol Regional and Yalta City Branches of the VTOO "SHR". They presented landscapes of artists of Alushta, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Kerch and Yalta. In the process of preparing the project, the exhibition committee looked at 699 works by 386 authors. 301 works were selected for the exhibition.

In Zheleznovodsk, one of the four pearls of the oldest resort region of our country, an exhibition of this scale is held for the first time, this is a unique event for the entire region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The opening of the exhibition is dedicated to the so-called. the high holiday season of 2017. The total exhibition area is 3000 square meters. m. The exhibition is comprehensive. Its program includes not only an exposition of painting, but also a scientific and practical conference, as well as a program of social significance (excursions, creative meetings of spectators with artists, master classes, etc.)

In terms of its content, the Inter-regional art exhibition of the landscape “Rainbow of the South” is very relevant, as it represents a whole layer of modern art that has formed in the post-reform situation in the south of Russia. In this regard, it gives specialists - art historians, historians, museum workers, artists - invaluable material for analyzing the development of the landscape genre in recent decades. At the same time, one cannot fail to note the high attractiveness of the exhibition for a wide range of art lovers. Landscape is a favorite among all other genres of painting. He is ardently loved by viewers of various ages and social affiliations. With this in mind, the organizers successfully completed both tasks - presented unique material for analysis by specialists and developed an impressive picture of the modern southern landscape for the wide audience.
