The all-Russian action “Museum Night” was held from May 21 to May 22, 2016 at the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum named after V.P. Sukachev. The number of visitors has increased compared to last year: in 2015, the museum was visited by almost 1,000 people, on the main museum night of this year, all branches of the Irkutsk Art Museum received 1,665 people.

More than twenty volunteers participated in events as part of the “Museum Night” campaign. They held master classes, helped visitors with navigation, and were in the most crowded places.

Manor Sukachev with his program “Sounds of the MUSEUM” began the event at 18. 00. In the park zone for the guests of the evening there were several interactive venues where you could participate in master classes, try on old dresses and make memorable photos, enjoy the concert. Informative excursions “Music of Flowers” and “Melody of Revival” were held for guests. At eight in the evening the grand opening of the exhibition “Legendary Strings” was held, where more than 100 guitars are presented, demonstrating the history of the first electric guitars of the countries of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, as well as guitars with a legendary history. The exposition includes guitars of Viktor Tsoi, Igor Talkov, Vladimir Mulyavin, Gary Moore and others. At ten in the evening, a retro disco began at the central site of the park, which ended at midnight.

In the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Art Museum, “The Night of Museums” started at 20. 00. Throughout the evening, master classes for children and adults were conducted by participants in the creative association M`Art. “Poets in the city” arranged a literary performance for guests, they played with visitors in burim, and the authors of the best poems received gifts from the museum. Young architects created an art space in the courtyard: installations, a photo exhibition, electronic experimental music, a minibar and much more.

Later, the “Museum Night” was completed by the Main Building and the Sculpture Gallery of the Irkutsk Art Museum, at two in the morning the last guests left. Between the two branches there is a cozy square where workshops on modeling and jewelry were held throughout the evening. For guests, the group “f. Cirque. "

A cinema hall was arranged in the exhibition hall of the Main Building, in which films about the museum and artists were shown. Exactly at midnight, the theatrical-musical action “Nochka” from the Pilgrim Theater (directed by V. Sokolov) began.
