Park of Culture and Rest Tatyana. Exhibition of Yuri Tatyanin. 16+

At the end of May, Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art opens an exhibition of art objects and embroideries by the famous Lipetsk artist Yuri Tatyanin.

Yuri Tatyanin is a self-taught artist, but more than twenty years have passed since he picked up brushes and paints. Scrabble, who knows literature and art history very well, he consciously followed the path of naive, because he was always interested in the idea, and not the form of its embodiment.

At the exhibition "Park of Culture and Rest named. Tatyana "collected objects and paintings of the artist, united by a peculiar nostalgia for the Soviet past and reflections on the place of this past in the present.

In his native Lipetsk, the artist drew attention to the vitality of the traditions of the Soviet era: in the city there are several monuments to Lenin, one of them, carefully painted with bronze paint, stands in the park. Next to it is a board of honor for honored workers of the city, another board is located at the central entrance of the city-forming metallurgical plant. In spring, tree trunks and flower-bed borders are still painted with white lime in the city.

According to Tatyanin, a well-groomed recreation and culture park is a Soviet paradise, the quintessence of the expectations of a Soviet man from a bright future. And now the future has come, but it is completely different than it seemed. At an exhibition in the Erarta Museum, Yuri Tatyanin in his own way comprehends the aesthetics of Soviet life, bringing it to the point of absurdity.

The works of Yuri Tatyanin are included in the permanent exhibition of Erarta. This is the second solo exhibition of the artist in the museum.

Exposition "Park of Culture and Rest. Tatyana "is available to visitors from May 25 to July 9, 2018 on the 3rd floor of the Exhibition Wing.
