Georg Ots - pop and opera singer (baritone), People’s Artist of the USSR, award winner - conquered the audience with a calm, very noble academic manner of singing, a great sense of dignity, impeccable taste, and a special manner of pronunciation. The singer worked in different genres with great success. In addition to baritone opera parts, he performed operetto with brilliance. Particularly popular was the role of Mr. X in the film Mr. X (USSR, 1958), a film adaptation of the operetta of Imre Kalman’s Princess of the Circus. On the stage he sang mainly songs of heroic themes dedicated to the war of composers E.S. Kolmanovsky, A.P. Dolukhanyan. One of his most famous songs is “Do They Want Russian Wars” (E. S. Kolmanovsky and E. A. Evtushenko).
