Registration continues for participants of the Bibliochek 2015

On the night of April 24–25, an international action will be held throughout Russia in support of reading “The Biblical Night”. Registration for the main program will last until April 20, 2015.

Library Night is an annual campaign in support of reading as a way of life. Official participants can be any organization. Traditional participants are libraries, museums, galleries, publishing houses, literary societies, clubs, bookstores. The only condition for participation: the holding of a cultural program on its site at the scheduled time, open to all who wish to visit it.

For example, libraries are expanding the time and format of their work - they organize on their territory lectures and open readings, theater performances and concerts, exhibitions, as well as meetings with modern authors.

The action was initiated by the library community of Moscow and the Association of Culture Managers (AMK). In 2012, the initiators of the action wanted to breathe new life into the libraries, to show how in a space filled with books you can spend time interestingly, work, and meet, read and study. Already in 2014, more than 2,000 sites joined it in all regions of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, including 1,300 Russian libraries that organized over 3,000 events.

The general theme of 2015 is “Open the diary - catch the time.” It is the diaries of writers, prominent figures of the era and even ordinary people who will help modern residents of Russia to travel through time and feel the atmosphere of the historical past.

Libraries of the capital initiated a number of special projects - “City in words”, “Artist and book”, as well as “Citizen’s diary”, which will bring the book holiday to parks and boulevards. But traditional projects, such as “Biblical Twilight” and “Bibliophary”, in which residents of the whole country can take part, will also be preserved.

To participate in the main program, participants will need to register and declare their program of events. on the official website of Bibliochek . Registration of new participants of the action was open from February 13 and will last until April 20.

In 2015, the “Library of the Night” will become one of the central events of the Year of Literature in Russia and will unite not only libraries, but also literary museums, bookstores and online platforms throughout the country.

Biblical Twilight (RF)

Children’s programs “Bibliochki” will traditionally be held as part of the special project “Bibliotheca" Young readers will find a whole range of interactive events. All evening, until 10:00 p.m., fascinating quests, quizzes and master classes will be held for children. And the heroes of their favorite works will help them find themselves in a fairy tale and learn new interesting stories and facts.

Bibliophars (RF)

The purpose of the special project “Bibliofary” is to attract communities to participate in the action where there are no museums, libraries, or bookstores within walking distance. Thus, “Libraries on Wheels” can become not only a means of transporting books, but also an important link in the library system of Russia, performing special social functions.

City in words (Moscow)

In preparation for the Bibillion Night, ten unique works in the public art format will be created in the center of Moscow, which should combine the work of contemporary writers and artists. Popular graffiti artists will depict illustrations for books by contemporary authors, as well as quotes from them, on the walls of Moscow houses. Each object will be equipped with qr codes with links to a literary work and the address of the nearest library in which this book can be obtained. All this will turn the urban space into a “Virtual bookshelf”.

Diary of a city dweller (Moscow)

Especially for the "Bibliochek" Library-reading room to them. I.S. Turgenev and the Department of Cultural Studies at the Higher School of Economics will allow everyone to take part in the creation of a collective work of art called The Diary of a Citizen. You will find a total installation, the material for which will be the diaries of ordinary citizens. Within the framework of the project, the diary can exist in a variety of forms, whether it be a classic text, video recording, a selection of photos or a page on a social network. The installation resulting from them will show how the modern city dweller sees and feels the world around him and his place in it.

Artist and book (Moscow)

A series of exhibitions dedicated to book illustrations will also open in Moscow on April 24. They will feature works by famous illustrators: S. Alimov, V. Pertsov, G. Kalinovsky, B. Diodorov, E. Monin and others. Also, festival guests are waiting for exhibitions of young artists, exciting lectures and creative evenings, master classes for children, comic book presentations and much, much more. In addition, the project will feature works by Russian and foreign illustrators in parks and boulevards in Moscow.
