Biblionoch-2015 starts today in Moscow

MOSCOW. The traditional Biblionoch campaign, which has been held in Moscow and other regions of Russia since 2012, will take place on the night of April 24-25. This year the theme of the event is the diaries of writers, famous figures of the era and ordinary people. Events dedicated to the Biblionochka in Moscow will be attended by poet Dmitry Vodennikov, animated film director Yuri Norshtein, artistic director of the Nikitsky Gate Theater Mark Rozovsky, writers Igor Obolensky, Lyudmila Ulitskaya and Marietta Chudakova.

Library Night 2015 will take place not only in libraries, but also in bookstores, museums, in parks, on boulevards, as well as readers will be able to participate in a bike quest, the head of the Moscow library told them. Turgenev Alexander Vakhrushev. More than 200 participants of the action, who will hold about 600 cultural events, are registered as organizers of the library night in Moscow. The special project “Biblical Twilight”, aimed at family and children’s audience, will also be held as part of the action. The event is awaited by the action "Writer with a diary" - 20 children’s writers, together with their diaries, will go to children’s libraries in Moscow to earn grades from young readers.

Also at the Biblionochka, Moscow students - designers and culturologists will present the project “Citizen’s Diary”. Theater actors will read excerpts from online diaries in the Turgenev library, and graduates of the design school of the Higher School of Economics will simultaneously add a video installation. “On our facades of the XVII-XVIII centuries, a text of modern citizens will appear on how they feel today in the city, what they think about,” said Alexandra Vakhrusheva.

In addition, a traditional cycle quest will take place, where each of the teams will follow an individual path indicated on the map. Participants will receive tips for solving the task in the libraries of the city.

In turn, an exhibition of book illustrations has already started in the Museon park, which presents more than 40 works by Russian writers as part of the Artist and Book program. In addition to the Museon, the venue for the events of the Bibliochny is the design factory Flacon, on whose territory a specialized festival takes place.
