A number of exhibitions at the Irkutsk Art Museum are completing their work in the last days of August

In the main building of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum (Lenin St., 5) only until August 31 you can see all the works of Ilya Repin in the museum’s collection. Recall, for the first time, it was decided to simultaneously demonstrate to the public the entire collection: four paintings and five graphic works. After August 31, only the painting “The Pauper. Girl-fisherman ”, belonging to Repin’s brush. The rest of the work will be moved to storage.

August 30 is the last day when V.P. Sukacheva (112 December Events Street) will feature graphics by Japanese authors Iri and Toshiko Maruki. The fragility of the world exhibition opened on August 6, the day of memory of the victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The wife of Maruki donated her graphic work to the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum in 1967. Until 1990, they were placed in the permanent exhibition of the museum, then were in the funds. At the end of the exhibition, children’s portraits, landscapes and still lifes of Iri and Toshiko Maruki will again be deposited.

In the Siberian Art Department of the Art Museum (23 Karl Marx St.), only until August 30, visitors will be able to get acquainted with the work of the Buryat artist Evgeny Bolsoboev. The exhibition "In the Nomads" is the first personal exhibition of this author in Irkutsk. The exhibition presents paintings and graphic works, bronze sculpture.

A good reason to visit the museum could also be the anniversary of Isaac Levitan. August 30, the old style marks 155 years since his birth. The museum’s collection contains two works related to this artist. Levitan’s study “The Sea off the Finnish Shores” (1896) is on permanent display in a showcase in the hall of the “Russian Art” of the last decades of the 19th century. In addition, visitors will be able to see a bronze sculptural portrait of the artist, made by the famous sculptor M.K. Anikushin in 1961.
