In the Ulyanovsk region is a unique regional project "Days of Mordovian culture"

The events started on October 22 at the V.I. Lenin Ulyanovsk Regional Scientific Library as part of the Concept for the Implementation of State National Policy until 2025.

Within two months, the inhabitants of the region will get acquainted with the unique cultural heritage of the Mordovian people. The events will be held on the eve of the celebration of the 165th birthday of the creator of Mordovian writing and the author of the first Erzyan primer based on the Cyrillic alphabet Auxentius Yurtov.

The project opened with the exhibition “Velen Mazy Ki” (“The Beauty of Rural Roads”) in the Book Palace.

“Days of Mordovian culture” begin here with this wonderful exhibition. This is the first bright site of today. The authors of these works, Yuri Dyrin, Stepan Korotkov, Lyudmila Kolchanova-Narbekova, are famous artists of the Republic of Mordovia. We greatly appreciate their creative work, but personal contact is even more important: on the threshold of the preparation of the exhibition, we communicated with them. These are wonderful people, artists, masters of their craft. We thank the Republic of Mordovia for being ready to immerse ourselves in culture with us, share our impressions, talk about Mordovians, present our culture as a precious metal. Highlight the facets of artistic creation: songs, dances, ”said Vladimir Sofonov, chairman of the Ulyanovsk Regional Mordovian National-Cultural Autonomy public organization.

You can get acquainted with the exposition in the exhibition hall of the Ulyanovsk Regional Scientific Library named after Lenin until the end of November.

Project activities are held in anticipation of the celebration of the 165th birthday of the creator of the Mordovian script and the author of the first Erzyan primer based on the Cyrillic alphabet Auxentius Yurtov.

peoples living in the area, so this project is so important to us. The first day of the project ended with a gala concert of creative groups of the Republic of Mordovia and the Ulyanovsk Region in the Governor’s Palace of Culture.

In November, the II Regional Youth Mordovian Forum will also be held in the Ulyanovsk Region as part of the project, and during 2018-2019 the Ulyanovsk Regional Mordovian National and Cultural Autonomy plans to carry out activities to assign the name of Auxentius Yurtov to the library of one of the municipalities of the Ulyanovsk Region and establish a medal in his name.
