VII International Cultural Festival "FLOWERS OF RUSSIA". Athens 2016

From June 1 to June 7, 2016, within the framework of the Cross Year of the Russian Federation and the Hellenic Republic in Athens, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation holds the VII International Cultural Festival "Flowers of Russia".

The program of the Festival is built in accordance with the basic principle of the UN Declaration on International Cooperation: "Dissemination of knowledge, promotion of talent and enrichment of various cultures." The project’s attention is focused on the most talented children in the field of musical, visual arts and on the field of creative and aesthetic education of children in Russia.

The festival will include: a gala concert of classical music performed by young talents of Russia, a performance by the Yekaterinburg Theater for Young Spectators, a round table, exhibitions of puppet dolls and children’s drawings, master classes in acting and classical dance.

Classical dance master class Vladimir Shklyarov - premiere of the State Academic Mariinsky Theater, winner of prestigious international competitions and prizes, winner of the Zegna scholarship - Mariinsky New Talent Awards.

June 2, 19-00

The official opening of the Festival - a gala concert of classical music “Russian Souvenir”, annually included in the program, will open to the public an authoritative Russian performing school, representing its most talented young musicians. Laureates and diploma winners of national and international competitions, students of the most prestigious musical educational institutions of Russia aged 11 to 17 will perform works of Russian and foreign classics on violin, cello, button accordion, piano and oboe.

Master class in classical dance of Ilya Kuznetsov - People’s Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of the Higher Theater Prize of St. Petersburg "Golden Spotlights", founder and artistic director of the network of dance schools "Children’s School of Ballet Ilya Kuznetsov", president of the charity Foundation "Advocacy and Revival of Russian Art".

A master class in acting Andrei Shimko - an actor in theater and cinema, one of the brightest and most respected teachers of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, the department of theater art "School of Russian Drama named after I. The play "Chestnut" of the Yekaterinburg Theater of Young Spectators. This is the story of a dog - a cross between a dachshund and a mongrel - “jumping” from the pages of Anton Chekhov’s famous story onto the stage, but not in the theater, but in the circus and in an interesting company. The performance is a laureate of the Russian National Theater Award "Golden Mask", a participant in international theater festivals in Russia, Estonia, Poland, Germany, Serbia, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Great Britain, Romania.

The performance is being translated into Greek. Age category 7+.

Interactive exhibition of puppet dolls "Dolls for children and adults" of the St. Petersburg State Puppet Theater named after E. S. Demmen. Viewers will see a collection of author’s theatrical puppets - a kind of “golden pantries”, which in St. Petersburg is called the “big troupe of a small theater”. A visit to the exhibition involves interactive communication between spectators and professional puppeteers.

Exhibition of children’s drawings "Russia through the eyes of a child." The best works of art school students from different regions of Russia were selected by experienced art historians. The drawings, made in different styles, genres and techniques, combined the "reasoning" about the homeland: landscapes of native places, home still lifes, illustrations of your favorite books and much more.

The program of the Festival, presenting the true wealth of the country - young talents, contributes to the mutual cultural development of states and their mutual understanding.
