Exhibition of artistic felt "New life of traditions"

On March 19-22, 2022, the XII International Exhibition of Artistic Felt "New Life of Traditions" will be held in the center of the Northern Capital. The works of masters, artists and designers of various felt trends will be united by the theme “Turning the Pages”. Masters will reflect stories and images from their favorite literary works in their creations.

The guests of the exhibition will meet with Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, a felt-textile character of the artist-puppeteer Svetlana Ospischeva. Visitors will discover various facets of the amazing felt world from painting, sculpture and art objects to clothing and accessories. Everyone can find something new and interesting for themselves.

On the opening day, felt dolls will come to life in a mini-performance "Kotofey Ivanovich".

The special project "Literary Hero" will reveal the images of characters from familiar works, embodied in felt costumes. The audience will see the mischievous Pippi Longstocking and the modest Alyonushka, the gentle Snow Maiden and the proud Snow Queen, the sweet Peasant Young Lady and the mysterious Margarita.

Various types of bags and backpacks, the design of which reflects literary scenes, will be demonstrated as part of the special project "Book in a Bag".

The special project "Trace in History" will acquaint the audience with felt shoes of various eras worn by literary heroes of the past.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try on the fantastic hats of the special project "It’s in the Hat", created based on their favorite books, and take pictures as a keepsake.

Those who wish to join the secrets of the felt craft will be able to master various techniques for working with wool at master classes.
