Description of Claude Monet’s painting "Iris
1914 - 1917.
Before us is the work of a true master impressionist. He often worked in plein air. Monet realized that the paintings he created outdoors were incredibly vital and fresh. If you create them in the studio, it’s almost impossible to achieve such an effect. In this case, the artist already knows in advance what he will depict.
The artist advises others and works himself, using a certain approach to reality. You need to completely distract yourself from what’s in front of you. You only have to think about it until you have a certain impression of what you see. The impression becomes a visual impulse, which is created by the influence of what the artist sees in a particular moment.
We see magnificent irises. The impression is that they are not flowers, but a real sea, which attracts with its depth. Blue transitions are impressive. The painter deliberately does not prescribe any details. The expressiveness of his works is in these broad strokes that amaze with special relief. The irises are incredibly tangible and at the same time fabulous.
The artist seeks to convey not a clear picture of what he saw, but his own impressions of it. In his mind, irises are associated with the real abyss that attracts and fascinates everyone who admires it.
The skill of the author is astounding. His colors are fresh and natural. He feels the slightest nuances of color and conveys the depth of each shade. It is no coincidence that only a few colors of iris are painted in detail. For the artist, the landscape as a whole is significant, which he perceives as such. The viewer looks at the picture through the eyes of Monet himself and penetrates into the deep secrets of his soul.
The artist sought to capture the fleeting impression that this gorgeous picture of blooming irises made on him. It slips away, so it’s very difficult to preserve it on canvas. Only a true master can do that.

The picture has something of this: nature, flower, summer, water, flora, outdoors, bright, growth, floral, leaf, grass, blooming, season, wild, garden, fair weather.
Perhaps it’s a painting of purple and yellow flowers in a field of green grass.
