Ivan Leonidovich Lubennikov - People’s Artist of the Russian Federation. Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation, Cavalier of the Order of Friendship, professor of Moscow State Art Institute named after Surikov.

Since 1972, I. Lubennikov began to participate in Moscow and international exhibitions. In 1976 he graduated from Moscow State Art Institute named after IN AND. Surikov (workshop of monumental painting by professor K.A. Tutevol).

Ivan Lubennikov is the winner of numerous professional awards in the field of monumental art and painting. He is one of the outstanding contemporary artists - monumentalists, who created a unique style in urban architecture. But he gained world fame thanks to his paintings.

The artist takes an active and direct part in the ennoblement of Moscow. In 2001 awarded the RAX gold medal “For mosaics on the vault of a new exit from the Mayakovskaya metro station” (for which he was also awarded the “V. Mayakovsky International Prize”).

Ivan Lubennikov does not limit himself to work only in the field of fine art and architecture. He is an outstanding contemporary artist - a monumental painter, a world-renowned painter, as well as a writer and restorer.

At the exhibition “IVAN LUBENNIKOV. CANVAS. OIL ”shows a retrospective of easel work of the artist. Various genres and themes of the presented paintings allow us to trace the development of technology and the features of its embodiment throughout the author’s creative path. Periodization of exhibited works begins from 1983 and up to 2014. Despite the different themes, all canvases combine clarity and freshness of the look, combined with wit and a picturesque experiment.
