"Ninety-nine names of the Almighty" in the Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin

MOSCOW. February 20 opened a grand exhibition of classical Islamic art "99 names of the Almighty." The Pushkin Museum proudly presents works from the collection of the Margini Foundation, which cover the period from the middle of the 9th to the beginning of the 19th century AD.

The impressive name of the exposition is fully justified! Since it was made up of 99 magnificent masterpieces worthily representing the Islamic world in the world community! This figure was not chosen by chance - Muslims during prayers mention 99 beautiful names of God, who gave people a particle of their creative power. Each piece is an embodiment of Beauty, therefore, its study brings the audience closer to God!

The exhibition consists of three sections, corresponding to the largest historical period. The first section includes works created from the birth of Islam to the Mongol invasion. The second is represented by the works of artists and sculptors of the time of Genghisides, and the third reflects the post-Mongol period.

Moreover, the presented collection includes works created in all key countries of the Islamic world. Iraq and Iran, Syria and Africa, Asia Minor and Central Asia - all the “Faces of Islam” are presented at this masterpiece exhibition!

Muscovites and all guests of the capital who are lucky enough to get to the exhibition before May 26 of this year will be able to see unique works! Indeed, most of the works presented at the exhibition have not been exhibited outside the Islamic world.

The exhibition serves as a kind of bridge between the Christian and Muslim worlds, demonstrating those universal values that are praised in every religion of the world! Truly great art is born only in pure hearts, following the path of Wisdom and Good.
