The project "Your Favorite Artists" brought landscapes of I. I. Shishkin to Rybinsk

Rybinsk. On February 12, the second exhibition of the project “Your Favorite Artists”, dedicated to the work of the great landscape master Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, began to work in the art museum-reserve. The works of this remarkable artist are known to everyone from early childhood, they got acquainted with reproductions of his paintings on the pages of the first school textbooks.

Nature gave Shishkin a special talent - his ability to observe and study the natural world was noted by everyone who knew him personally, as well as those who knew only the artist’s work. His paintings are not just landscapes, this is the deepest penetration into the natural world. Working on numerous landscapes, the artist simultaneously created the image of his homeland, its solemn and majestic beauty.

Shishkin was hardworking, traveled a lot, preferring the environs of Petersburg and the Baltic states. In his work, he preferred to paint Central Russian landscapes, but also turned to the northern side of Russia. His work is widely known for its many wonderful landscapes, but his graphics are no less interesting. Well-known contemporaries noted his undoubted gift as a draftsman.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see more than fifty exhibits. Provided for the exhibition by various Russian museums. Among them are not only landscapes, but also graphics, as well as sketches written by the artist during the work on famous paintings.

The authors of the idea and organizers of the exhibition dedicated to the anniversary year (180 years have passed since the artist’s birthday) were employees of the Yaroslavl art museum. The exhibition will be in Rybinsk until April 7th, and then other cities will meet it. taking part in the project.
