Ural landscapes at the exhibition "Influence of the Moon" in the vision of the artist V. Shamkin

CHELYABINSK. On January 31, the gallery “Influence of the Moon” opened in the Harmony Gallery, at which an artist from Chelyabinsk, Vasily Shamkin, presented 28 of his works to the judges of painting. The works that made up the exhibition are written in the style of surrealism. According to art historians, his paintings can be compared with the works of the great master Salvador Dali.

Experts say that painting in this style is not as easy as it is presented by amateurs. To use such a style, it is necessary not only the presence of imagination, the ability to see the world in a special way, but also masterfully own an academic drawing. Therefore, the artist often draws from nature paintings in a classical manner.

However, the paintings selected by Vasily Shamkin for the exhibition are Ural landscapes with views of swirling and inverted trees, snowdrifts of an unusual appearance. Everything depicted in the artist’s paintings looks like certain symbols, their content is full of metaphors. His handwriting is always recognizable, and the artist always unites man and nature in the themes of his works.

The exhibition “Influence of the Moon” acquaints visitors with only a small part of Vasily Shamkin’s many talents. After graduating from an art school in Chelyabinsk, the artist continued his professional education at the Institute of Art and Culture.

He realized his abilities in various fields - in his creative luggage, the design of performances, where he acted not only as a production designer, but also as a set designer. Vasily Shamkin worked as a teacher, teaching fine art, was engaged in design.

He has over a hundred exhibitions, among which there are enough personal ones. The new exhibition will work all February.
