The exhibition "Tobolsk Autumn" warms the soul with bright colors

OMSK. On March 1, the Kondraty Belov Museum opens an exhibition of two artists from Omsk. Sergey Zolnikov and Vladimir Belousov called their exhibition “Tobolsk Autumn”. The exposition presents works made in the open air in Tobolsk, the ancient Siberian capital. Here you can see paintings, pastel works, pencil drawings.

This exhibition seems to have been specially created for someone who during a long winter, saturated with a uniform white color, was tired of the snow-covered space, and now his soul asks for the appearance of bright colors. The works of artists are full of colors of golden autumn, which is always generous in their diversity.

Tobolsk has long been a city that has attracted the attention of not only historians and tourists. Every year an increasing number of artists come there. Among Siberian painters such trips for inspiration are already becoming traditional. Part of the creative heritage of Kondraty Belov consists of paintings dedicated to this ancient city. One of the last exhibitions Kondratia Belova, held during the life of the artist, was shown in Tobolsk.

The national artist discovered the beauty of the ancient city in the middle of the last century. He painted large canvases depicting landscapes and monuments of Tobolsk, now stored in the funds of the museum named after him. The museum’s collection also contains 19 pencil sketches made by Belov during his first trip.

If we compare the sketches written by Belousov and Zolnikov during their autumn plein air, the connection of times is clearly traced - on the works of our contemporaries, the images of the same places that were written more than half a century ago, only this is the work of artists of a different generation.

Closing of the exhibition is March 20th.
