The work of VGIK professor Alexander Dudin at the anniversary exhibition at the Ministry of Agriculture

MOSCOW. In the exhibition hall of the Ministry of Agriculture, an anniversary exhibition of the honored artist Alexander Dudin opens. His main activity is teaching at VGIK, where he is a professor in the department of painting and drawing, working at this prestigious university for more than thirty years.

At the same time, the artist is engaged in painting. Most of his works are written in the genre of classical painting, but a considerable number of illustrations for books are also made. In the exhibition exposition, book illustrations are presented next to landscapes painted in Crimea and India, portraits and still lifes.

Almost all known painting techniques are subject to Alexander Dudin, creating works in various genres, in each of which his talent is obvious. The skill with which his works are performed, at the first acquaintance, amazes the audience.

Excellent knowledge of the work of the great masters of the past helped the artist to master all the painting techniques so much that his work is surprisingly colorful, and their compositions allow emphasizing the plot of the paintings. Among the works of Alexander Dudin, there are oil paintings, watercolor paintings and a pencil.

Drawing illustrations for books, the artist uses mascara and a pen. This technique contains illustrations for the unpublished book "Three Musketeers." A considerable number of published illustrations in the creative baggage of Alexander Dudin. The titles of the works he designed are impressive - Homer’s Odyssey, Dickens’ novels, Chekhov’s stories, and even two Bible editions. Often in his work, the painter turns to the nature of Crimea. The most favorite place in Crimea is Yalta, the hometown of the painter, giving him inspiration.
