MOSCOW. In honor of the next birthday of the Moscow Metro on May 14, the exposition of the Watercolor train was updated. In the afternoon, from the metro station “Partizanskaya”, located on the Arbat-Pokrovskaya line, the train will leave, which will house reproductions of paintings stored in the Ryazan Art Museum. Pity
Now, during the trip, subway passengers will be able to get acquainted with paintings and graphic works made in the period from the 17th to the 20th centuries. The exposition will present the best examples of Russian and West European pictorial art from the collection of the Ryazan Museum for a reason. It was chosen for a good reason - thus, along with the birthday of the Moscow metro, the centennial of the Ryazan Art Museum will be celebrated.
Previously, reproductions from the Tretyakov Gallery, the St. Petersburg Russian Museum and other famous museum collections were already presented on the Watercolor train. The history of the museum train began with the idea of the famous master of watercolors - artist Sergey Andriyaka.
It was he who was the author of the creation of such an original exhibition, traveling through metro stations along with its visitors - that is, passengers of the Watercolor train. The first works reminding the passengers of the train about the beauty surrounding them, but not always seen, were works made by Sergei Andriyaka himself. For the first time, a unique exhibition on wheels set off in 2007, on the first of June. Later, the work of the master replaced the works of students of the watercolor school, created by Sergei Andriyaka.
The birthday of the metro will also be marked by concerts, and on May 16, an exhibition of paintings by the national artist Alexander Shilov will begin in the metro management building.
