The wonderful world of the Bulgarian artist Chudomir at an exhibition in the Museum of Tolyatti

TOLYATTI. Timed to the day of the city, an exhibition of the talented artist from Bulgaria Dimitar Chorbadzhiysky opens on May 31 at the city art museum. The exhibition is presented under the name Nashentsy. This Bulgarian word means “natives of our land. This is the name of one of the stories written by Dimitar, better known under the pseudonym Chudomir.

His talents were not limited to the art of painting - Chudomir was also a famous writer. Coming out from under his pen books, he illustrated himself. Using in his work an ironic style, Chudomir made his stories look like folk jokes, because self-irony has long become the main feature of the modern Bulgarian character.

The first works performed by the artist were born in 1907. Initially, these were caricatures, but then Chudomir began to act as a writer. The feuilleton and short stories written by him became extremely popular in Bulgaria; books were repeatedly reprinted.

Since the heroes of his works were recognizable, and the author had a unique talent to describe them with humor, which was impossible to be offended, each new work of the artist and writer Chudomir was received with enthusiasm. During his work, the artist created about 150 paintings and an uncountable number of drawings. Solo exhibitions of Miracle World have always enjoyed continued success.

At the opening exhibition, delivered to Togliatti from the city of Kazanlak, where in the 30s the artist worked as a drawing teacher, 79 of his works will appear before visitors. The exposition of the exhibition corresponds to the content of the last lifetime exhibition of the artist’s works. You can get acquainted with the work of the Bulgarian artist until June 16th.
