"The Artist is a Man of the World" - an exhibition of paintings by Mikhail Abakumov in Kolomna.

Kolomna. Since July 18, the exhibition “The Artist is a Man of the World” has been opened at the Center “Ozerov’s House”. The exhibition exposition consists of works created by People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Mikhail Abakumov. In total, the exhibition dedicated to the Year of Culture taking place in Russia housed about 80 works by the famous painter.

Most often, the name of Mikhail Abakumov is associated with images of Russian nature. He created unforgettable images of Kolomna, depicted in the spring bloom of gardens and covered with snow, paintings painted in the Vologda Territory, filled with love for Russian nature. This attitude to Russian landscapes helped the artist understand the beauty and originality of the landscapes of the countries where Abakumov managed to go on creative trips.

The painter visited many European countries, where he presented his work. His exhibitions were held with great success, conquering with their professionalism the hearts of people belonging to different cultures, different nationalities.

During his trips, Mikhail Abakumov managed not only to acquaint foreign viewers with Russian culture and art, but he himself studied the life of other peoples, got acquainted with their traditions. From travels, the artist brought sketches, sketches, then with their help wonderful landscapes were created.

In the paintings displayed at the exhibition, you can see the views of sunny Montenegro and the beautiful corners of Paris. Eternal Rome is adjacent to the landscapes of Venice, so beloved by many artists. The artist’s desire to get in touch with the atmosphere of ancient cities, to feel their soul, allowed the painter to create paintings that could bring the audience closer to the past of ancient streets.
