"The magic of ancient drawing" - an exhibition of works from the collection of the Tambov gallery after restoration

TAMBOV. Within a month, visitors to the regional art gallery can enjoy the graphic works of artists from Russia and Western Europe, created in the 16-20 centuries. “The magic of ancient drawing” - this is the name of the exposition by its creators, gallery staff. More than thirty works previously stored in the vaults are now available for inspection by connoisseurs of graphic art.

Although some of the works have been several centuries old, they are in perfect condition. It seems that artists completed them recently. Indeed, these works were reborn. This exhibition is especially interesting because the works included in the exhibition have just returned to Tambov from the capital. During the year, specialists of the center. Opening the exhibition, the chief curator of the collection of the regional gallery Inga Mishina said that the second birth of unique works are due to the free restoration program. The Tambov gallery was included in this program by the center to them. Grabar. The center’s specialists selected 32 graphic works from the gallery’s storerooms. Now they have returned to their native walls in an updated form.

Since all stages of the restoration of the wizard are documented - using photographs and descriptions, visitors to the exhibition can see for themselves how complicated the life of graphic works, fragile and fragile. Graphic works are stored in special conditions, so gallery visitors will be able to see them for only a month.

The exposition presents the works of Italian and Dutch schools, among which there are drawings that served as preparatory materials for large works, and next to the graphics of famous Russian artists - Serebryakova, Serov and other artists.
