An exhibition of informal creativity of architects of the last century was opened in the architectural museum

MOSCOW. In the museum to them. Shchusev usually hosts exhibitions dedicated to the work of architects, telling about interesting projects created by famous masters. This time, his employees decided to introduce their guests to the architectural life reflected in the informal work of twentieth-century architects.

Masters of creative professions have always had a good sense of humor. The creators of the exhibition made an exposition of caricatures, cartoons and drawings that formed a kind of illustrated chronicle. In these works, created without regard to censorship, the architects showed everything important and interesting that affected their feelings.

The exhibition includes many drawings of young architects created in the first half of the last century. They are filled with romance, kindness and light irony. Nearby are cartoons, the subject of which was relevant in the 20s - revolution and war. Student humor is a separate issue. For its disclosure, materials stored in the collections of the Museum of History at the Moscow Architectural Institute were used.

This section presents student wall newspapers, as well as cartoons for teachers, famous architects. The classics of the architectural school are represented in the exhibition not only by friendly cartoons. The exhibition presents their portraits, informal photographs, as well as images created by masters of iconic buildings.

The exposition consists not only of the museum collection - it is supplemented by works stored in the archives of famous architects. There was a place at the exhibition and recordings made at the performances of the satirical ensemble of the Mosproekt Institute, created in 1953. He performed under the name “Kohinor and Reyshinka", turning into a legend.

The last day of the exhibition is April 1st.
