"Natella Toidze. Sculpture of color" - a vivid exhibition at the New Manege exhibition hall

MOSCOW. On January 26, an exhibition of the capital’s artist, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Natella Toidze, opened in the New Manege. Her works of art are called sculptural painting. Therefore, the name of the exposition is corresponding - “Sculpture of color”. Natella Toidze became an artist by family tradition.

Grandfather, grandmother, father of Natella - each of them is known in art. The artist’s grandfather, Mose Toidze, is one of the founders of the USSR Academy of Arts. Her grandmother, Alexandra Stupina, became one of the first professional painters among women. Natella’s father is a famous graphic artist and sculptor.

Continuing the artistic dynasty, Natella Toidze went her own way, creating a unique author’s style, bright and recognizable. Often, the artist’s work is attributed to contemporary art, however, she herself considers herself to be just an artist who works outside of time and direction. Looking at her works, there is no need to solve puzzles - they are simple and beautiful. Natella Toidze’s paintings are full of feelings.

The definition - “painting of a happy person”, most accurately describes the work of Natella Toidze. The artist works also not quite usual. Although she prefers large-format canvases, she does not work in the workshop, considering the lighting in it inappropriate. Although it is technically difficult to work with large canvases in the open air, Natella paints her paintings only from nature. Even minus temperature does not become an obstacle to her work.

Natella Toidze’s work was presented at the most prestigious exhibition venues in Russia, the artist’s work also took part in major foreign exhibitions held in Paris, Beijing, New York and other cities of the world.

Natella Toidze’s work will be in the New Manege State Exhibition Hall until February 25.
