Exhibition for the anniversary of the artist Sergei Menshikov in Novosibirsk

NOVOSIBIRSK. Novosibirsk artist Sergey Menshikov celebrated his sixtieth birthday with the opening of a personal exhibition. The exhibition is located in the Art Center "Red", where on December 2 the first guests came to congratulate the artist on his anniversary. Since Sergei Menshikov considers painting the main focus of his work, then most of the exhibition space is occupied by paintings.

The artist himself says that for him, painting gives him the opportunity to constantly improve his skills. For the anniversary exhibition, the author selected works of different years and various genres. Visitors to the exhibition will see plot paintings, city landscapes and the beauty of nature. There was a place in the exposition both for still lifes and for sketches made by Sergey Menshikov in open air.

Over the years of creativity, the artist has developed a special style of painting, characterized by lightness and subtlety. Images in his paintings initially seem static, but then the viewer begins to feel the energy invested by the artist in his works. Time, slowly flowing in the artist’s works, makes visitors to the exhibition linger on each painting for a long time.

The graphic part of Sergey Menshikov’s work is also on display. Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to get acquainted with the original illustrations for books of various subjects. The artist performed illustrations for the tales of Russian and foreign authors, children’s cognitive literature and fiction. All book graphics are made in various styles.

The artist introduced another area of his creative activity - photographs of his painting of the temple in Khanty-Mansiysk.
