Pasternak’s memorial evening and presentation of a new book

REMAKE. In the house-museum of Boris Pasternak, an evening of his memory took place.

House number 3 on Pavlenko Street, a writing town near Moscow, and after the death of a brilliant host, remains a place of attraction for thousands of poetry lovers. This is a real cultural center, where excursions, creative evenings, memories are heard, readings are held, exhibitions, open-airs are organized and foreign languages are taught. Three elements still reign here, dear to the heart of Boris Pasternak - music, painting, poetry.

But above all, this is the house of the great poet. Favorite corner, a place that helped him to survive during the years of brutal persecution and inspired creativity. Beautiful poems were born in it, work was underway on translating the works of Shakespeare and other fellow writers. Here was put the last point in the manuscript "Doctor Zhivago." In the spring of 1956, the Polish writer Zemovit Fedecki (Ziemowit Fedecki) will forward the novel to the West, opening him the way to world fame.

From 1984 to 1990, the Pasternak Museum survived "excommunication." For real estate in a prestigious village, literary officials found new owners. Priceless exhibits could end up in a landfill and be irretrievably lost. Justice did not triumph until February 1990, and the museum returned to its native walls again.

A pleasant surprise awaited the guests of the memorable evening, penetrated by wonderful music and poems by Boris Leonidovich. Elena Vladimirovna Pasternak, the widow of the poet’s son, Yevgeny Borisovich, presented to the public the book “Existing through fabric…”, published by the publisher “Revision of Elena Shubina”. It was based on the poet’s correspondence with his first wife, Eugenia Lurie, opening the veil over the little-known pages of the poet’s life. The publication was released in many respects thanks to the efforts of Yevgeny Borisovich, who supplied the epistolary narrative with interesting comments.
