Yekaterinburg theatergoers in anticipation of the new season in the Sverdlovsk drama

YEKATERINBURG. The last performance of the Sverdlovsk Drama Theater before the band left for summer vacation was the drama "Thunderstorm" shown on July 6th. In addition to the actors of the drama theater, representatives of the Young Theater take part in the performance.

The past season for the theater is eventful. This is not only the replenishment of the theater repertoire with remarkable performances and an unprecedented surge in the interest of the audience (for ten months, theater productions were able to see about 140 thousand spectators). In the annual theater forum "Bravo", the team of the Sverdlovsk Drama became the winner in five categories of the competition at once.

The successes of the theater troupe were appreciated - more than 4 million rubles were allocated for future theater projects. Grants were allocated by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation. Thanks to this support, viewers will see three new premieres at the end of the year - Digital Virtual Theater, Jeanne, and the famous fairy tale Blue Bird.

The other plans for the next theater season were announced. In November, the director Andrei Rusinov promises to show the audience his new work - the play "Before the War", a production based on the novel by the same name by Vil Lipatov. A gift is being prepared for the audience from the “Dance Theater” - a choreographer from France Gael Domenger is already working on the dance performance “In a Nutshell”.

In the fall of 2014, the theater will open the anniversary season - the 85th. The theater began to prepare for the anniversary in advance, but what a surprise awaits the audience on the day of its opening, while it is kept in strict secrecy. So far, it is only known that this will be a play staged according to a modern novel that has gained immense popularity.

It is possible that the secret will be revealed in January of the coming year, when the director’s laboratory takes place, the result of which will be the determination of the director of the future performance.
