The first theater to open a new season in the city was a musical operetta

ST. PETERSBURG. At a time when most of the St. Petersburg theater groups are on vacation, the musical comedy theater on July 16 invited spectators to the opening of the new season. The 84th season opened with a performance, the premiere of which was shown shortly before the closing of the past season.

The operetta "Count of Luxembourg", written by Franz Lehard, fifty years ago was included in the repertoire of the theater, enjoying success with the theater public. At the end of last season, the popular operetta directed by Igor Konyaev returned to the stage of the musical comedy theater. The audience considered the performance successful and expressive. The director, adding love stories with an unexpected ending a little more playfulness, placed the operetta heroes in a bohemian environment than made the plot of the play even more intriguing.

In the season that opens, fans of the theater will find many pleasant surprises. Already in September, the premiere of the musical "Chaplin", well known to Broadway viewers, is planned. The plot for this performance was the life path of the famous Charlie Chaplin. Spectators will see the story of the fate of the “legendary man” staged by Broadway experts, led by director and choreographer Warren Carline.

In the next premiere of the season that begins, it is planned to acquaint the audience with the work of the director from Hungary, Miklos Gabor. In his interpretation, the musical “Jekyll and Hyde” will be staged, based on the novel by Robert Stevenson. Next, the audience will find the premiere of the operetta Isaac Dunaevsky’s “Bridegroom” and a funny story about ten brides of the Austrian author from Vienna, Franz von Zuppe.

In the new season, it is planned to begin work on the operetta "Diva", on which the creators of the famous musical "The Vampire Ball" will work - director Baltus and artist Kentauer.
