At the children’s festival "Gavrosh" present the work of theaters from the Netherlands

MOSCOW. At the Teatrium on Serpukhovka, a theater festival was once again launched for young spectators. This festival got the name “Gavrosh” for a very simple reason - the first theater forum was made up of French performances, and when the performances from Italy were brought to the capital the following year, it was decided that there was no point in renaming it.

The idea of creating such a festival belongs to Teresa Durova and Marina Raikina. Visiting the countries of Europe, they saw how European theaters for children differ from the usual for us. They cannot be compared in quality - they are just different. And the audience is brought there, almost a year, sometimes even in wheelchairs. Actors play performances for them, which kids watch with great pleasure and attention.

This year’s “Gavrosh” presents to the audience performances that came to the capital from the Netherlands. The choice of this particular country is understandable. This year is dedicated to cultural ties with the Netherlands. It would be unreasonable to miss the opportunity to receive solid state support allocated to events taking place in the framework of supporting cultural ties. This is all the more important for the children’s theater, because you don’t have to wait for profit from its work.

The festival of children’s theaters from Europe for our country is important for another reason - in these countries they are not afraid to talk with children about topics that are relevant to them. If children from the age of five are interested in the issue of death, then they are told about the death of their beloved grandfather. Teenagers are interested to hear about love - in performances for them this topic is also touched.

At the same time, a serious conversation does not become boring, because in the theater it is held with music and dancing, so do not miss the opportunity to show unique performances from Europe to children until September 22nd.
