"Scarlet Flower" for staging in the "Theater" was chosen by the audience of the theater

MOSCOW. Teresa Durova will present to the public today the first New Year’s premiere in the “Teatrium” - the musical “The Scarlet Flower”, based on the tale of Sergei Aksakov, beloved by many generations of children, not forgotten by adults. The play “The Scarlet Flower” “The Theater” continues the cycle “Classics in a New Format” created by the theater. As part of this project, the performances "Flint" and "Flying Ship" were shown.

Preparations for the premiere began a year and a half ago, when on the theater’s website they turned to the audience with a request - to tell which piece they would like to see, “The Scarlet Flower” became the leader of the survey. The story of the tale was respected in the theater, but the merchant’s road was long, new heroes appeared in history.

The character of the youngest daughter also changed - now she dreams not only of a scarlet flower, but also of sea voyages with her father. Alyonushka was chosen for a long time, 60 girls took part in the casting, and only two rehearsed the role. The other actors were also searched for a long time, because about thirty characters live in the performance, and even musicians whose music will sound simultaneously from the orchestra pit and from the stage.

The overseas monster in the play will be very real - it is played by actor Rufat Akchurin. A delightfully terrible costume and make-up will make him a monster, and he will turn into a handsome prince in front of the audience. Light effects and quick transformation of the costume will help him in transforming.

The scarlet flower will also be in the play, it was made by the props of their Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. As it should be, he will be small, but thanks to the secret that is in him, they will see him from anywhere in the hall.

A kind tale of love and fidelity to an honest word will be accompanied by wonderful music and wonderful songs by Maxim Dunaevsky.
