An evening was celebrated in the Kaluga Drama Theater for the anniversary of the chief director A. Pletnev

KALUGA. “According to the Waves of My Memory” - that’s the name given to the evening at the Kaluga Drama Theater, dedicated to the anniversary of the main director, Alexander Borisovich Pletnev. So many people came to congratulate Alexander Pletnev on his fiftieth birthday that the organizers of the evening had to urgently adjust the procedure for holding it - a previously unintended interval appeared in the holiday program.

The chairman of the Kaluga branch of theater workers Sergey Kornyushin read out a congratulation from Alexander Kalyagin, official congratulations were sounded from the director of the theater and the regional minister of culture, flowers were presented from the governor. Guests arrived from Saratov, Tver, and many more cities where Alexander Pletnev Borisovich was the director of performances.

However, much more time than official congratulations took gifts. Gifts were unusual - from live music and humorous performances to acrobatic and artistic sketches. They were handed over by colleagues from different cities, Schukinki students studying at the theater, as well as students of GITIS. Ten years ago, they headed the course Alexander Pletnev, and today many of them are already well-known actors.

The jubilee has been working in Kaluga drama for more than seventeen years, having arrived in the city after graduating from GITIS in 1996. His first production in the theater was the play "Players" by Gogol. A year later, Alexander Borisovich was appointed to the post of chief director.

Thanks to the actors of the theater, the audience was able to meet with the heroes of the performances staged by Alexander Pletnev. Some of these performances have already left the theater poster, while the rest are still enjoying success with the audience. Fans of the theater in the near future will find many more meetings with the new creations of the hero of the day.
