MOSCOW. On August 26, the Et Cetera Theater held a traditionally solemn gathering of the collective. At the meeting, the artists congratulated the main director of the theater, People’s Artist Robert Sturua, who turned 75 on July 31, on the anniversary. The main celebration took place in the director’s homeland, in Tbilisi, and now his Moscow colleagues congratulated him.

Although during this year many events happened in the director’s life - he was reinstated as the manager of the theater named after Rustaveli, from whom he was released two years ago. He opened his own theater in Tbilisi, where he already managed to show the audience the premiere of the play “Maria Callass. Lesson".

However, at the meeting, Robert Sturua said that he wouldn’t leave his work at the Et Cetera Theater, as he had great love for the team and its artistic director, Alexander Kalyagin, who supported him in difficult times. Alexander Kalyagin assured the director that he, as before, would be the main director in the theater, and each artistic decision would be made only after agreement with him.

As a confirmation of his words, Kalyagin announced that in the new season, the first premiere will be the production of Robert Sturua’s “Comedy of Errors,” based on the famous Shakespearean play. The first meeting of Sturua with the Et Cetera Theater is associated with Shakespeare. It was a Shylock performance, followed by a number of productions. Their fragments, shown on the screen during the congratulations, recalled the work of the Georgian director.

Then Sturua was waiting for another surprise - a declaration of love from the theater actresses. The text of these confessions belonged to the heroines of Shakespeare’s plays, and Kalyagin presented the hero with 75 roses. After solemn congratulations, the rehearsal of the performance "The Tempest", which took place in the evening, took place. On August 27, a new theater season opened in the theater.
