Moscow THEATER.DOC will show two performances in the center of modern culture

KAZAN. On February 1, the Center for Contemporary Culture presented to Kazan spectators the performance of the Moscow theater of the documentary play “Two at Your Home”. THEATRE. DOC is a non-profit, independent project created by several playwrights in 2002. He rarely toured Russian cities, for the most part his work can only be seen in the capital, but his work is familiar to the European public.

Theater actors come to Kazan for the second time. For the first time, they visited the capital of Tatarstan in the last theater season with the play "Uzbek", an author’s play by director Talgat Batalov. This autobiographical story appeared before the audience in the form of a one-man show, where the director and performer is the author of the play.

Talgat moved to Moscow from the Uzbek capital only 6 years ago, so he created the hero of the play based on personal experience. Although in the full sense of the word "emigrant", neither the director nor his hero can be called. For Talgat, moving to Moscow was actually a return to his historical homeland. His great-grandfather and great-grandmother moved to the Central Asian republic at the beginning of the last century. It is interesting that they lived before departure in Kazan.

Each of the theater’s performances is based on the fate of real people. Kazan’s audience first saw the story shown in the play “Two at Your Home”. This play about a public figure, writer Vladimir Neklyaev, a former presidential candidate in Belarus, was written by Elena Gremina. The play shows the time when Neklyaev, who was arrested on election day, was placed under house arrest. He was guarded around the clock by members of the Belarusian KGB. The performance was staged by Mikhail Ugarov.

In 2013, both performances were nominated for the Golden Mask festival in the categories Experiment and Small Form Drama.
