MOSCOW. For the fifth time, the Musical Theater. Boris Pokrovsky holds a festival of performances staged by the founder of the theater, whose name is a legend in the history of world opera art. According to established tradition, the festival program dedicated to the birthday of Boris Alexandrovich gives the audience the opportunity to meet again with the best performances staged by the great opera director.

For most of the decades, most of them have not left the Chamber Theater’s repertoire; they are constantly included in tour programs. Theater named after B. Pokrovsky went on tour in many countries around the world, where the audience is always warmly received. The Chamber Theater poster has performances not only of the classical repertoire, the music for many works that are successfully performed on stage is written by modern composers.

The festival of performances created by Boris Pokrovsky is not only an annual meeting of fans of the work of the great director with his favorite performances. It is also a reminder of the stages of the work of the Chamber Theater, of the most significant theatrical works and their original embodiment with the help of the unique staged aesthetics of the legendary director.

Continuing the traditions of its founder. The Chamber Theater opens to its admirers opera masterpieces, little known to the general public. The last work of the theater, not so long ago presented to the audience, was Haydn’s opera “The Lunar World”, which had never been heard in Russia before. The director of the performance Olga Ivanova devoted her work to Boris Pokrovsky.

Master’s birthday, on January 23rd, on the stage of the theater will be the performance of “Dialogues with Pokrovsky”. Fragments from the best performances created by the founder of the theater became its basis.
