The Sochi Winter Theater opened the Golden Olympus Theater Festival

SOCHI. On the 23rd of June, the Theater Olympus festival opened at the Sochi’s most famous stage venue, in the Winter Theater, the main event of this theater summer in the resort city. To participate in the federal festival, which has already become traditional, collectives of leading Russian theaters arrived in the city. In total, during the festival days, spectators will see eight performances, and more than a thousand actors will take part in them.

The result of the competition program will be the awarding of the title of the best Russian theater to one of the theater groups. The main creative program provides for the shows of performances that have become events in the theatrical world. Another important part of the festival program will be workshops, seminars and meetings with leading experts covering current professional topics. The opened forum should serve the development of the theatrical process on the Russian stage.

The first artists to present their work were the capital region. In the evening of June 23, viewers saw the comedy “For Two Hares,” from artists from the Moscow Regional Theater. The following festival participants prepared a musical gift for the audience. Leading soloists from the Crimean Tatar Musical Theater on June 25 will show the concert “World Music Hits”.

Most of the theater groups brought to the festival not only performances for adult spectators. The first to present their work intended for children, artists from the Vladimir drama. In the morning of June 26, everyone will be able to see the famous fairy tale telling about the wizard of the emerald city, and at the evening performance Vladimir artists will show one of Ostrovsky’s most remarkable comedies, “For every wise man…”. The festival will continue on June 30th.
