Bogomolov’s new work - Boris Godunov will open the season in Lenkom Automatic translate

MOSCOW. In the new theater season, the repertoire of several metropolitan theaters will include performances staged by director Konstantin Bogomolov. His works, presented to viewers in past mesons, did not leave indifferent either the public or theatrical critics.

Some considered the scenic reading by Bogomolov of famous works to be ingenious, for others they were unacceptable. Each new work of the director was perceived ambiguously. Those of the audience who were able to attend the pre-premiere screenings in Lenkom, where Bogomolov staged his version of Boris Godunov, say that this performance is also significantly different from the classical production.

Even at the first glance at the program it is noticeable that new characters appeared in the play. In the Godunov version created by Bogomolov, “Pushkin, an emigrant, and his brother are not an emigrant” appeared. The performance is designed by the stage designer Larisa Lomakina, who constantly collaborates with the director. The venue was a modern office, and the costumes for the characters of the play were taken from a modern wardrobe.

The premiere performance “Boris Godunov”, which became the debut work of Konstantin Bogomolov at the Lenkom Theater, will be seen by spectators on September 8th. The role of Godunov will be played by Alexander Zbruyev, and Igor Mirkurbanov, already playing in the fourth performance of Bogomolov, will appear before the public as Otrepyev. Most of the roles in the performance are performed by the artists of Lenkom, the director praised the work with which he said that it was wonderful to work with them.

Konstantin Bogomolov continues cooperation with the Moscow Art Theater Chekhov. In October, rehearsals of the play "The Anniversary of the Jeweler" will begin. This performance is being prepared for the 80th anniversary of Oleg Tabakov and will be presented to the audience in January next year, on the main stage of the Moscow Art Theater.
