In Sevastopol, the International War Film Festival named after Yu.N. Ozyorova

SEVASTOPOL. Yesterday, the Sevastopol Sailor Club of the Black Sea Fleet opened its doors to start the work of the XII International War Film Festival (IFWC) named after Yu.N. Ozyorova. For 11 years, the patriotic festival of war cinema managed to visit St. Petersburg, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Ryazan, Krasnodar, Cheboksary, Tula and Bryansk. In Sevastopol, the film forum is taking place for the first time.

International war film festival named after Yu.N. Ozyorova this year takes place in the hero city of Sevastopol from October 14 to 19. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Rosvoencentr under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Veterans and the Government of Sevastopol. The war cinema festival is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol and the entire Crimean peninsula from Nazi invaders.

As part of the All-Russian "Program of Patriotic Education of Citizens of the Country for 2011-2015" in 2014, the organizers plan to hold a war movie festival even more ambitiously. The six competition programs of the event will be attended by composers, filmmakers, film actors, artists, writers, critics, including guests from other countries - Germany, the Czech Republic, Serbia and China. In total, about 70 new films are presented in the list of contestants, the screening of which will take place at five movie venues. Finalists will be announced on October 19 at the closing ceremony of the XII Yu.N. International War Film Festival Ozyorova.
