In the Nizhny Novgorod club, the team "Theater Workshop" showed the play "Freak"

NIZHNY NOVGOROD. The creative team “Theater Workshop”, consisting of actors of Drama and Youth Theater, presented the premiere performance “Freak”. The premiere took place in the Nizhny Novgorod club "Vasya + 1", located on the street Krasnaya Sloboda. The director of the play, based on the play of the same name, written by the modern German playwright Marius von Mayenburg, is a young director, actor of the Nizhny Novgorod Drama Pavel Ushakov.

The theaters who watched the Drama-Talk project are familiar with the play, since within the framework of this project its sketch in the reading format was carried out. Now the director, with the help of the actors participating in the play, showed the play visually, adding video graphics and dancing to it.

The performance is difficult to attribute to any genre - it contains elements of a comedy of reincarnations, the production may resemble a joke, or may be perceived as a parable. The characters of the play are not divided into positive and negative characters, everything is relative in it.

At first glance, the story told in the play is not quite ordinary, but it is not particularly difficult. The hero of the play learns about his ugliness by accident when he is about to present his invention. Having decided on plastic surgery, the inventor gets a new look, with which comes fame and fortune. Whether the loss of individuality brings him happiness and whether it can be preserved in modern society - this is the opinion of the audience.

The next show of the play is scheduled for mid-November, but the meeting place of the actors with the audience is still unknown.
