Spectators of the Lipetsk Drama Theater saw the premiere of "Chic Wedding"

LIPETSK. In the Lipetsk Drama Theater. At the end of the week, L. Tolstoy premiered the first work of actress Maria Kolycheva as a stage director. Her choice was the play "Elegant Wedding", written by Robert Houdon, a playwright from England. Maria Kolycheva said that initially, she wanted for the first directorial work to turn to more serious material.

The novice director did not expect that she would put on stage a comedy of situations that tells about the inhabitants of the English province. However, when it was carefully read, the director realized that this comedy play can be put on a performance that is not only provocative of laughter. It has enough meaning for the audience to have more complex feelings.

The name of the production corresponds exactly to the plot of the production. The performance tells about love, about the wedding, and more precisely - about the events preceding the wedding celebration. All problems began with the traditional stag party. The main character, Bill, so zealously noted a farewell to a single life, that in the morning he could not understand how he ended up in a hotel room intended for newlyweds.

Moreover, next to him in bed was a beautiful woman, completely unfamiliar to him. Memories of previous events, gradually arising in Bill’s head, lead him into a state of horror. There is very little left before the wedding, the bride appears, a friend of the stranger appears. Whether the groom will be able to adequately resolve the situation - the audience will find out during the performance. Musical accompaniment perfectly complemented the production.

The first directorial work of Maria Kolycheva, third-year student of the Institute. Schukin, can be called a successful step on the path to mastering the profession of director.
