Festival of Kazakh cinema begins its work in Ufa today

UVA. Today, December 8, the first screening of Kazakh cinema within the framework of the planned festival will be held at the local Rodina cinema. The purpose of this event is the logical continuation of the acquaintance of Ufa spectators with the multilateral culture of Kazakhstan and the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of cinematography and culture in anticipation of the 2015 BRICS and SCO summits in Ufa.

The program of the Kazakh Film Festival, held from December 8 to 12, will show the film "The Old Man" directed by Yermek Tursunov. The picture is based on the famous story “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemingway. In early autumn 2013, the film "The Old Man" was nominated by Kazakhstan for the Oscar in the category "Best Film in a Foreign Language". The next film, which will be shown during the festival, will be the work of the director of Farhat Sharipov, "The Tale of the Pink Hare." According to the opinions of the audience, this is not at all a simple film that tells about what the cost of the race for a “beautiful life” in megacities can cost.

On the third day of the festival, viewers will see the film “Yer-Tostik and Aydarkhan” directed by Rustam Turaliev and Zhaken Danenov, which is a full-length animated film and the first film adaptation of the history of Kazakh cinema, one of the most popular folk tales. For fans of fantasy, the organizers of the festival prepared the film “Sword of Victory” directed by Anuar Raibaev and Asiya Suleeva.

The thematic film forum will end on December 12 with the screening of the film “Sky of My Childhood” directed by Rustem Abdrashiev, which tells about the childhood of the President of Kazakhstan Nursulan Nazarbayev. The film was shot based on the literary memoirs of the president “Epicenter of the world”, “Without right and left” and “In the center of Eurasia”.
