The premiere of the new version of the play "Brothers and Sisters" was held at the MDT

ST. PETERSBURG. On April 26, on the stage of the MDT, they showed the audience the premiere of the new version of the play “Brothers and Sisters”. This performance of Lev Dodin, based on four novels by Fedor Abramov, has been on the stage of the Theater of Europe since 1985. He managed to see the audience of several generations.

It was a surprisingly sincere work of young actors who did not play, but lived on the stage, the lives of their heroes. The performance took place both on the stage and in the hall. Each of those sitting in the hall began to feel not as an outside observer, but as a resident of the post-war village of Pekashino, located in the northern outback of Russia.

For the first time, viewers were offered a new look at the history of our country - humane and extremely honest. It was a story that in the post-war life of our compatriots, in spite of difficulties, there were happy moments. The older generation of theatergoers is aware of the difficult way this performance will appear on the stage of the MDT.

In fact, the premiere of the first version of “Brothers and Sisters” took place back in 1978 at the stage of the Educational Theater of LGITMiK (now this educational institution is called the Theater Academy). It was a performance of graduates of the course, where the leaders were A. Katsman and L. Dodin. The popularity of this student work was so great that on the evening of the show on the street mounted police were on duty.

In preparation for the play, students, and then actors of the 1985 version, traveled to the homeland of Fedor Abramov, in the village of Verkola. During the expedition, they not only studied rural life - it was an introduction to the roots of the nation. Young artists who presented a new version of the play also visited this northern village. Now, new performers of characters that are familiar to viewers will have to pass the most difficult exam - premieres.
